Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) 2026/2027 @ViA
We are pleased to share the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) that Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) will be organising during the 2026/2027 academic year.
We would be grateful if you could disseminate this information among your students and academic staff and consider participation as a partner institution sending learners. All programmes combine a virtual component with an intensive on-site learning experience in Latvia and award 3 ECTS credits.
Our BIPs bring together participants from different countries and disciplines to work on real-world challenges related to sustainability, innovation, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, media literacy, health technologies, and regional development.

Erasmus+ BIP "Curating Commons"
Physical mobility: 3–10 October 2026
EQF level: 6, 7, 8 (Bachelor's, Master's and PhD)
Fields: Architecture, Construction, Spatial Planning, Sustainability, Territorial Development
The programme explores adaptive reuse and community co-production as strategies for strengthening resilience in peripheral territories. Participants work in interdisciplinary teams to develop adaptive reuse proposals responding to local needs while applying circular design and stakeholder engagement approaches.
Erasmus+ BIP "Community-Based Sport and Outdoor Entrepreneurship for Regional Development"
Physical mobility: 12–16 October 2026
EQF level: 6 (Bachelor's)
Fields: Entrepreneurship, Sport Management, Outdoor Education, Regional Development
This programme examines how sport and outdoor activities contribute to community engagement, social inclusion, entrepreneurship, and regional development. Participants develop sport- and outdoor-based business concepts with social impact.
Erasmus+ BIP "From Research to Reach: Science Communication in Practice"
Physical mobility: 2–6 November 2026
EQF level: 7 (Master's)
Fields: Science Communication, Communication and Media Studies, Public Engagement, Research Communication
Participants strengthen their ability to communicate research effectively through academic and popular writing, storytelling, visual communication, public speaking, and social media engagement.
Physical mobility: 23–27 November 2026
EQF level: 6, 7, 8 (Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, researchers and staff)
Fields: ICT, Multimedia Technologies, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship, Creative Industries
Using design thinking and challenge-based learning approaches, participants work with entrepreneurs, researchers, and industry representatives to develop innovative solutions addressing regional development challenges.
Erasmus+ BIP "Creating Meaning in Digital Noise: Media Literacy and Content Creation"
Physical mobility: 19–23 April 2027
EQF level: 6 (Bachelor's)
Fields: Media Literacy, Journalism, Digital Communication, Civic Engagement
The programme focuses on critical media literacy, ethical content creation, digital storytelling, and responsible participation in digital environments.
Physical mobility: 17–21 May 2027

Students work in interdisciplinary teams to analyse healthcare challenges, co-create digital solutions, and develop functional prototypes using user-centred design and innovation methodologies.
Erasmus+ BIP "Building with Nature: Bio-Based Adaptive Reuse in Practice"
Physical mobility: 15–22 May 2027
EQF level: 6, 7, 8 (Bachelor's, Master's and PhD)

This hands-on programme focuses on sustainable construction, adaptive reuse, bio-based materials, and circular building practices through participation in a real construction project.
Erasmus+ BIP "Augmenting Smart Experiences in AR/VR"
Physical mobility: 1–6 June 2027
EQF level: 6–7 (Bachelor's and Master's)
Fields: Information and Communication Technologies, XR/AR/VR Development, Immersive Media, Digital Innovation
Participants develop immersive XR solutions and prototypes while exploring AI integration, smart technologies, virtual worlds, and interactive user experiences.

Erasmus+ BIP Summer Institute 2026 – The X-Factor in Future Cities

This international programme focuses on key urban challenges such as housing affordability, sustainability, climate resilience, and the role of AI in shaping future cities. Sustainability as a Driver of Innovation and Development
June 8-12, 2026 | Università degli Studi di Cagliari
This five-day intensive program explores key sustainability challenges. Through expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, and site visits, participants will gain valuable insights into sustainable solutions. Topics include circular economy, sustainable tourism, industry and energy, and environmental ecosystems, complemented by a visit to an industrial facility and an excursion to an archaeological site.
As part of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (BIP), the school combines in-person activities with a mandatory virtual component, fostering transnational collaboration and innovative learning. Networking opportunities, including a social dinner, will enhance idea exchange among participants.
By the end of the program, attendees will be equipped with practical knowledge applicable to both academic and professional contexts, earning at least 3 ECTS credits.

Call for Institutional Partners – Erasmus+ BIP Summer School 2026
We are pleased to invite your institution to join CROSSWORLDS – Multilingual and Intercultural Encounters across Borders, an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) to be held at the University of Enna “Kore” (Sicily, Italy) from 8 to 14 June 2026, with additional online sessions before and after the on-site week.
The programme is organised by the Department of Classical, Foreign Languages and Education Studies and focuses on multilingualism, intercultural communication and inclusive practices in contemporary Europe. CROSSWORLDS explores how languages and cultures cross borders and shape meaning, identity and social participation, combining virtual exchange with an intensive on-site experience.
We are currently seeking an additional institutional partner within the EU interested in participating in this BIP by:
• sending 5–10 students per institution, and
• involving teaching staff in the academic activities.
Programme highlights include:
• online introductory and follow-up sessions,
• lectures and workshops on multilingualism, intercultural communication and inclusion,
• collaborative academic and digital projects,
• a cultural excursion and guided intercultural reflection activities.
The programme is open to students and staff from Erasmus Charter institutions and awards a minimum of 3 ECTS credits. Erasmus+ funding covers programme organisation and student/staff mobility in accordance with BIP regulations.

Internationalisation in Language Courses in Higher Education
We are pleased to announce our upcoming Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on Internationalisation in Language Courses in Higher Education, designed for teaching staff of language centres at European universities and universities of applied sciences.
The programme offers an opportunity to exchange ideas, develop strategies, and design innovative approaches to integrating international perspectives into language teaching. Participants will work collaboratively across institutions and disciplines – both online and during a one-week on-site phase at our university.
In a time shaped by rapid technological change, AI-driven transformation, and global uncertainty, the internationalisation of the language classroom offers a meaningful way to strengthen collaboration, openness, and resilience across higher education.
